Frequently asked

How do I log an expense?

With the button on the home screen. Type the amount, pick the category, save. Merchant, tags and note are optional: if you're in a hurry, the amount will do.

Why is the category sometimes filled in already?

Two reasons. If you've logged an expense at that merchant before, KipuApp remembers the category you gave it and suggests it again. And if you create the transaction without picking one, KipuApp asks a language model for a suggestion, sending the description and merchant you typed, choosing from the categories you already have. You can always change it, and Privacy has the detail of what gets sent.

How do I set a budget?

Open the category and add a budget with the amount and period you want. From then on you see what's spent and what's left inside that category.

How do I get expenses logged automatically when I pay?

KipuApp adds an action to the Shortcuts app called Registrar gasto, taking merchant, amount, currency, note and budget. In Shortcuts, build an automation that fires on every Apple Pay payment and pass it the transaction's merchant and amount. The transaction lands in KipuApp without opening the app; the category is worked out from the merchant and you can always change it afterwards.

What happens when the seven days are up?

The app stops accepting new transactions until you unlock it, and there are two ways to do that: pay once and it's yours, or pay monthly. Both are chosen inside the app, and the App Store shows the amount in your currency. What you had already logged is left alone: it stays there and you can still read it.

What's the difference between paying once and paying monthly?

The features that come later. The one-time purchase includes every improvement and fix to the version you bought, and never expires. The monthly one also includes the major features added while you keep it. The detail is in the terms.

Can I use more than one currency?

Yes. Each transaction carries its own, picked from the currencies in your account.

How do I switch between light and dark?

In Settings, inside the app. By default KipuApp follows the system appearance.

I'm changing iPhone. Do I lose my transactions?

No. Your transactions live in your account, not on the phone: sign in on the new one with the same Apple Account and there they are.

Does KipuApp connect to my bank?

No, and there are no plans to. KipuApp never asks for banking credentials and never reads transactions from any institution: it only holds what you log yourself.

How do I delete my account and everything in it?

Write to soporte@getkipu.app from your address and ask for deletion. It's confirmed by email and carried out within 30 days at most, backups included. No explanation needed.
